On December 29, Professor Menachem Elimelech from Yale University, who is the newly elected foreign academic at Chinese Academy of Engineering as well as a member of the National Academy of Engineering, visited HGU. The former general manager of the Bureau of International Co-operation, CAE, Kang Jincheng came together. President Wang Fengming, together with the faculty and staff from School of Water Resources and Environment met with the visitors and discussed cooperation and exchange issues.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Wang extended warm welcome to the delegation, and admired and appreciated the contributions Professor Menachem Elimelech had made to environmental protection. Next, he gave a brief introduction of HGU, including the characteristic subjects, the achievements we had made in Water Resources & Science and our distinguished alumni. At the same time, to serve the environmental protection and urban layout of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region and Xiong’an New Area, Wang expressed his hope to conduct close, deep and diversified communication and collaboration with international research institutes and scholars, making contribution to the sustainable development and ecological civilization of China.
Professor Menachem Elimelech said that he as well as Yale University are willing to cooperate and exchange with HGU, and hope this visit can become a good start of a extensive and deep cooperation.
Kang Jincheng introduced the development of the projects in CAE and expressed his willingness to build platforms for local governments and universities to conduct technological cooperation with international institutions.
