The China Academy of Engineering (CAE) announced November 27 that they have selected 62 experts for membership. Mao Jingwen, HGU’s distinguished professor is among the newly selected academicians.
Professor Mao achieved his bachelor degree in Hebei Institute of Geology (currently known as Hebei GEO University) in 1978 and his master’s and doctor’s degrees in the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Geological Science in 1982 and 1988, respectively. From 1990 to 1993, he conducted postdoctoral work in MINES Paris Tech and MINES Saint-Etienne. Moreover, he was the Deputy Director of Institute of Mineral Resources, China Geological Survey and the Director, research fellow and PhD tutor of the Key Laboratory of Mineralization and Resource Evaluation, Ministry of Land and Resources.
Professor Mao has participated in numerous key projects in China as the chief scientist or leader, including the 973 Program, key programs supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China and geological survey programs of China Geological Survey. Besides, he also takes important positions in many other institutes and organization. He has to date published 11 monographs and over 400 academic papers, more than 150 are of sci articles. As the first prize winner, he has won the first prize in China’s State Natural Science Award and many other important prizes and titles.
