On March 2, Ms. Ma Keqing, Chinese ambassador to Czech Republic, visited Technical University of Ostrava(TUO), a cooperative university of HGU. She met with Prof. Petr Noskievič,the acting-president of TUO and the representatives of Chinese students.
During the meeting, Ms. Ma declared that the Chinese Students’ Association of Technical University of Ostrava had formally established. Mr. Meng Yajun, a faculty of HGU, who is studying for his Ph.D at TUO, was elected as the first president of the Association. Mr. Meng expressed that he will make efforts to do what he can to help Chinese overseas students and scholars and to promote the friendship and collaboration between China and Czech Republic, not letting them down.
Ms. Ma spoke highly of TUO in boosting the collaboration in education between the two countries. TUO has established cooperative relations and conducted academic exchange with many Chinese institutes, and has enrolled many Chinese students (from exchanging students, undergraduate students to PhD students).
The aim of the Chinese Students’ Association is to support Chinese students and scholars studying and working overseas, protecting their rights and interests, being the bridge that connects them to Chinese embassy.
